Sprint Galaxy Nexus receives Android 4.3 update

After the announcement of rollout of Android 4.3 update to Galaxy S4, Sprint is rolling out Jelly Bean update to Galaxy Nexus. It has been 9 months till Galaxy Nexus received Android 4.2.1 update. This update will be rolled out OTA and will take few weeks to reach all users. Cross your fingers for your update.

Unofficial Android 4.3 firmware leaks for Galaxy Note 2, available for download

Good news for Galaxy Note II users. A report says that Samsung is developing Android 4.3 firmware for Galaxy Note II and Galaxy S3, and for Note 2, it is available to download, unofficially though. 

Sam Mobile has posted build version N7100XXUEMJ5 for Galaxy Note II (GT-N7100) which according to came to them via an insider. Samsung is releasing a test build each two days to wipe out the bugs. The official rollout is expected to start in November. Samsung has also updated its Touchwiz UI and has derived them from Galaxy Note 3 and S4; Samsung Wallet and security solution Knox is also available with this firmware. 

Well, you can download and install this unofficial firmware to have a taste of Jelly Bean 4.3, but keep it in mind that this will probably contain a lot of bugs.

HTC 4G LTE will receive Android 4.3 update by the end of this year

President of HTC America Jason Mackenzie has just announced on Twitter at the EVO 4G LTE on Sprint will receive Android 4.3 and Sense 5 by the end of 2013.  The update will also include Sense 5 and also HTC Blinkfeed, the popular Flipboard like New feed service. You can also check manually by going to Settings > About > Software Updates > Check now.

Sprint is rolling out Android 4.3 update for HTC One

So how's there going on HTC One users. Well, those who are on Sprint, will start rejoicing, as the telecom carrier provider is pushing out the Jelly bean 4.3, the latest iteration of Android for you. It makes the Sprint first US-cellular network provider to push this update.

The changelog is as follows:

• Autocomplete – just start touching numbers or letters and the dial pad will suggest phone numbers or names. To turn on this feature, open your phone app settings and enable “Dial pad autocomplete.”
• OpenGL ES 3.0 – Android now supports the latest version of the industry standard for high performance graphics.
• Additional language support – Android is now translated in Africaans, Amharic (አማርኛ), Hindi (हिंदी), Swahili (Kiswahili), and Zulu (IsiZulu).
• Hebrew, Arabic, and other RTL (right-to-left) – now supported in the home screen, settings, and Phone, People, and Keep apps.
• Easier text input – an improved algorithm for tap-typing recognition makes text input easier.
• Lower latency input for gamepad buttons and joysticks.
• Location detection through Wi-Fi – use Wi-Fi to detect location without turning on Wi-Fi all the time.
• Bluetooth Smart support.
• Bluetooth AVRCP 1.3 support – display song names on a car stereo.
• Disabled apps tab – check which apps are disabled in Settings > Apps.
• Restricted profiles – put your tablet into a mode with limited access to apps and content.
• Setup wizard simplification – getting started on Android is easier thanks to the ability to correct previous input, and because of streamlined user agreements.
• Faster user switching – switching users from the lock screen is now faster.
• Enhanced photo daydream – navigate through interesting albums.

You can manually check if update is available by going to Settings > About > Software Updates > Check now on your HTC One.

Verizon Droid DNA receives 4.2 Jelly Bean update with HTC Sense 5

Verizon recently announced upgrade rollout for its Droid lineup's member Droid DNA. The telecom network provider has updated its support page of Droid DNA. It is not a clear page where one can easily get the details. According to this page, Droid DNA will receive Android 4.2 Jelly Bean along with HTC Sense 5. This upgrade will rollout updated People, Calendar, Gallery and a new kind of dialer apps. Moreover, Blinkfeed, the famous feed reader app of HTC One is going to join Droid DNA. However, Zoe, the three second video animation clips of HTC are not the part of this upgrade, but the upgrade package has still a lot features to rejoice.

Android 4.2.2 with Sense 5 rolling out for HTC One X and One X+ for UK users

Last month HTC rolled out Android 4.2.2 update for HTC One X+ and One X for Taiwanese users. HTC is rolling out Android 4.2.2 firmware as well as Sense 5 UI to the One X+ and One X users living in UK. Be happy guys, it’s time to rejoice. This update not only brings Daydream, photosphere; the key feature of Jelly Bean 4.2, but also the Blinkfeed, a new camera app, Zoe gallery, Quick Settings toggle and more. This update also brings more battery efficiency plus it also shows exact battery status in notification bar. The new update 2.18.401.2 is 406 MB in size. To update your One X and One X+ go to Settings > About Phone > System Update. Currently this rollout is only for unlocked devices but we expect that carrier versions will also receive it soon. 

HTC One and Galaxy S4 Play Edition versions getting Android 4.3 update

Good news for users using Google Play Edition phones. Android 4.3 update is being pushed to their devices. So, HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 Play Edition are going to be updated with latest flavor of Android. While it is worth noting that original editions haven't got Jelly Bean 4.3. Some changes are available for Play Edition phones as larger home screen icons, larger widgets and bluetooth based internet tethering for Galaxy S4. 

Update weighs 180 MB for Galaxy S4 and 150 MB for One. It will be rolled out Over The Air so everyone may not get it immediately. So don't panic if your Play Edition phone is not showing Software update. 

Android 4.3 upgrade rollout plans confirmed by SONY

Yesterday Google launched Android 4.3. Today Sony announces to rollout Android 4.3 update for Xperia Z, ZL, ZR, Z Ultra, Tablet Z and Xperia SP. It is just a day later after the launch of Android 4.3. Some Sony devices will not get Jelly Bean 4.2 update, they will directly be updated to Jelly Bean 4.3 which is according to Google, the sweeter version of android. Sony has not provided any time table for rolling out the updates, but we expect it to be rolling soon as Android 4.3 code has hit AOSP yesterday and factory images for Nexus 4 are already available to download. Sony has also said that Jelly Bean 4.2 updates for Xperia ZR and Tablet Z will be pushed by early August. 

HTC One Android 4.2.2 update rolling out in UK

HTC is rolling out Jelly Bean 4.2.2 to UK. Although HTC One 4.2.2 update has already reached some parts of Europe, but HTC is rolling out it now officially. UK users can download the new Over the air update. This update brings some nee tweaks such as lock screen widget, option to disable on screen menu key, swipe up home button to launch Google Now and more which can be seen below. On Google's side there' support for photosphere and daydream screen savers. To update your HTC One go to Settings > About > Software Updates > Check now.

LG and T-Mobile rolling out Jelly Bean 4.1.2 update for Optimus L9

In April LG rolled out Jelly Bean version of Android to the Optimus L9 handset. But at that time due to some issues such as random reboot, apps crash, quick battery drain etc. LG pulled off the update. Now they have done all of their testing and again Jelly Bean update is rolling out.

Both LG and T-Mobile are pushing Jelly Bean 4.1.2 to Optmius L9 which currently runs on Android 4.0.4. Go to settings> About phone. If you see firmware version "P76920f" then you are running Android 4.1.2. If not, then you can simply click on "Check for Updates" as it is an Over the air or OTA update. This update will be around 350 MB in size. 

HTC One Android 4.2 update is close, may come today

HTC One the powerful phone of market is still running on Android 4.1 and users are eagerly waiting for Jelly Bean 4.2 update. Well don't worry you waiting seems to come to an end. According to leaks and rumors, all the international version users of One are going to receive Android 4.2 update on Wednesday, June 12. Within 24 hours, you may be using updated android version.

A tweet from an HTC Ambassador for HTC France, Yves Wi,  is suggesting that the HTC One Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update will roll out tomorrow. Jelly Bean 4.2 will bring photosphere, wireless sharing, daydream, rich notifications, gesture typing keyboard with predictive text and many more.

Android 4.3 spotted in Thailand with updated camera UI

 

Google did not released Android 4.3 in I/O 2013, but don't disappoint. Company may launch next version of its mobile OS in few weeks or months. A Nexus 4 running on Android 4.3 spotted in Thailand Mobile Expo by a visitor who posted them on XDA developers. This confirms that a major update to Android OS is coming.

The build version is JWR45B. We've seen a lot of rumors which show benchmarking results of phones running on Android 4.3, but these images are a solid proof. And there are not only "About Phone" images, the user has also posted an image of updated camera UI. It is an expansion to the camera app of Android 4.2 with multiple new gestures. Though platform version is not being changed i.e. it is only 4.2 to 4.3 upgrade, we'll not see bunch of upgraded as well as new features.

But still we are satisfied and ensured that Android update is in its final stages and will roll out soon. Ofcourse, it will also get delivered on Nexus devices firstly.

According to leaks Galaxy S3 is going to get features of Galaxy S4

Samsung is going to update Galaxy S3 firmware version from Android 4.1.2 to Android 4.2.2. Along with it, Sammy is also going to add tons of features introduced in Galaxy S4 such as dual camera, S Health, motion image capture, updated S voice etc. At the launch of Galaxy S4 Samsung has already announced that Galaxy S3 will be upgraded with these features. 

The firmware version has been codenamed as I9300XXUFME3 and has been available by SamMobile. The features expected to be coming with this software upgrade are:

• Improved lock screen, similar to that on the Galaxy S4: users will get to use multiple widgets, change the appearance and size of the clock, new unlock effects, and more
• The new screen modes launched on the Galaxy S4, Adapt Display and Professional Photo
• New Settings UI
• Dedicated Voice controls (from S4)
• Improved S Voice (from S4)
• Daydream
• Navigation mode
• Camera features such as dual camera

Android 4.2 comes to ASUS Transformer Pad TF300

Android 4.2, the tastiest iteration of Google's OS is available for few devices and major brands have announced that it will reach to their devices, sooner or later. Asus is first to announce Android 4.2 update among all. Asus Transformer Pad TF300 is the first Non-Nexus device to receive Jelly Bean 4.2 update. The update has started rolling in US today and more regions will be covered in March. 

ASUS says the update will also bring enhanced performance and stability. ASUS will also offer updates for their App Locker, Virtual Keyboard, Lock Screen and Setup Wizard applications. This update will also bring multi-user sessions to the tablet, which is the first feature to be shown as an OS, by Jelly Bean 4.2. 

Asus has a history of providing its devices with relatively speedy updates; the Transformer Pad got Android 4.1 soon after the software's announcement. Company says that it has good relationship with Google. Just reminding you guys that Asus recently has also announced FonePad in MWC 2013.
