HTC announces 5.9 inch One Max to take down Note III [Hands-on Gallery]

Hey oversized phone fans, here's your end to the waiting. HTC has officially announced its bigger version of HTC One. And it's really BIG. With 5.9 inch screen size of One Max, HTC has fully decided to take on Samsung. Phone is loaded with Full HD i.e. 1080p 5.9 inch screen at 373 ppi, 2 GB RAM, 16/32 GB onboard memory options, 4 MP Ultrapixel camera, quad core Snapdragon 600 CPU @ 1.7 GHz.. Connectivity options are Wi-Fi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, 4G LTE and NFC.

Everything is similar to it's ancestor i.e. HTC One except that it has Android 4.3 while One has Android 4.1, for which Jelly Bean 4.3 upgrade is already rolling out; and the biggest difference for which One Max was released is it;s size. It has a bigger screen than Galaxy Note III and doesn't has a stylus, so I can't imagine how people will use it. Well, the word is that HTC has launched the mos anticipated phone and now company seems to be free i.e. no rumors what they are gonna release.

Who knows what will be the next step from HTC. Will they launch a tablet? Is HTC gonna be acquired by some other company? In the meanwhile, check out the Hands-on pictures taken by The Verge.

Samsung's Exynos 5 Octa is going to see an upgrade

Exynos Octa, world's so called Octa core mobile processor from Samsung. It hit the market with galaxy S4. Now it is going to get an upgrade. Samsung has recently announced that it is going to release an enhanced version of Exynos 5 Octa SoC.

If you don't know then, Exynos 5 Octa is not a real Octa core-processor. Though it has eight cores, but they are divided in two groups of four. One group has 4 1.6-1.8 GHz ARM Cortex A15 cores while the other one has 4 1.2-1.4 GHz ARM Cortex A7 cores. This is known as big.LITTLE architecture. While the four "big" ARM Cortex-A15 cores would process computation-intensive tasks such as extensive gaming and media-rich browsing, the four "LITTLE" ARM Cortex-A7 cores would handle the lighter workloads. All of the eight cores are not working at the same time.

It is expected to see boosted speed, clock frequency and performance in "Evolved" Exynos 5 Octa. Leaked Specs say that next generations Exynos 5 Octa will have name Samsung Exynos 5420. It seems that Samsung will launch rumored Galaxy Note III with this next generation Exynos 5 SoC, in IFA 2013.

Galaxy Note 3 with Android 4.3 benchmarks leaked

Samsung is going to produce Galaxy Note Family with one more member, Galaxy Note 3 or GT-N7200. It may be consisting of 5.9 inch screen size. New Note 3 is expected to be launched in August 2013.

Today a new report has surfaced which shows AnTuTu benchmarks results of Galaxy Note 3. The big thing is that the device is running Android version 4.3. This is the same version which was hoped to be launched in Google I/O 2013, in May this year. Well Android 4.3 Jelly Bean launch is unofficially delayed to June or July. The AnTuTu benchmark result reveals an unknown 1.6 GHz Octa core processor, probably same as that of S4. Benchmark figures have reached 27K (27914).

If we head back then we see that Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S4 were launched with latest version of Android available at that time. So, Galaxy Note 3 may bring Android 4.3 with it.

Now, after Galaxy S4 it can be the next product from Samsung to have Exynos 5 Octa core processor. Galaxy Tab III may also be sported with same processor. Samsung is rumored to launch 5.9 inch Galaxy Note III

It seems that Samsung is not satisfied from its current screen sizes or it has focused on screen sizes only. Samsung’s original Galaxy Note introduced 5.3" screen and current Galaxy Note II has a 5.5-inch screen and the company is thinking to take the figures higher.

It is rumored that upcoming Galaxy Note, probably Galaxy Note III will feature a 5.9 inch screen. It was also heard tha Samsung is making a 6.3 inch display Galaxy Note, but this time the news seems accurate.

According to a Samsung employee
“Even if these kinds of sizes ― from 5-inch to 6-inch ― are stretching the limits of traditional pockets, well-made phablets using bezel-less technology have been warmly received. Users prefer bigger phones and they use them more often. Samsung will be more focused on larger phones.”
In addition to confirming the large screen of the upcoming mobile phone, Samsung’s official also said that the 8-core Exynos 5 Octa processor that was showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January would be included inside it. Samsung’s large screen phones have become increasingly popular in the United States, despite early speculation that the devices might be too big.

Galaxy Note III rumored to be powered with Octa Core Exynos 5 and 6.3" display

[Click on the image to get full view]

The Exynos 5 Octa eight-core mobile chip was one of the new products that Samsung unveiled at CES 2013 last week. Today we’re hearing of some new rumors concerning the next Galaxy Note, the Galaxy Note III.

The rumors come by way of The Korea Times as they believe the Samsung Galaxy Note III will be released later this year with a 6.3-inch display, which is nearly one inch larger than the Galaxy Note 2′s 5.5″ display. Not only that, but its sweet, sweet innards will also be receiving a huge bump in processing power as they also believe the Galaxy Note 3 will be one of the first devices to receive Samsung’s Exynos 5 Octa processor.

Well, there are no news if this super processor will be available in Galaxy S IV. We hope it will. Samsung has allegedly already approached Huawei, maker of the massive Ascend Mate, to potentially start up a partnership for future handsets, and ZTE which has recently released Grand S in CES 2013.

Samsung has done a good job of making previous Note handsets feel manageable, but when screen size borders on that of a 7-inch tablet, pocket-ability  and one-handed use becomes compromised.
