It's been a month when we are listening news and rumors about rugged version of Samsung's latest flagship smartphone i.e. Galaxy S4 Active, and now we have got what we heard. Samsung has officially announced Galaxy S4 Active. The body is redesigned but Galaxy S4 contains many features similar to Galaxy s4.
It comes with IP67 water and dust protection that means it can survive three feet of water for up to 30 minutes and is also dust proof. It is 1 mm thicker than the original one and weighs 151 gm i.e. 21 gm more than Galaxy S4. Screen size is as that like Galaxy S4: 5" 1920 x 1080p display with 441 ppi. The device is loaded with 1.9 GHz quad-core processor (higher than Galaxy S4), has 2 GB RAM and runs on Android 4.2.2. Hardware design is little changed with three hardware buttons as well as back having a tough look.
The downgrades we find in it are 1) 8 MP camera instead of Galaxy S4's 13 MP and 2) LCD screen instead of Super AMOLED display. There's also a water-resistant headphone socket, Samsung's 'glove touch' screen tech to operate it with gloves and a special 'aqua mode' setting for the camera to take awesome photos under the water, like Xperia ZR. It will be launched in U.S. and Europe first in three color options: Urban Grey, Dive Blue and Orange Flare. Price is not announced and we except it to be announced in upcoming Samsung's UK event.
