Sony officially announces Xperia Z1 with 20.7 MP camera and camera enhanced apps


During an event in IFA 2013 in Berlin, Sony officially wrapped off its Xperia Z1. This is the phone which was rumored to have name "Honami". With release of Xperia Z1, Sony is competing with Nokia Lumia 1020 and thus showing he world that it's not behind anyone when talk comes about technology.

So lets have a brief look at Xperia Z1. As being a member of Xperia Z family tree, this phone is also full waterproof. It has some similar design to other members of the family. It has 5 inch Sony's Triluminous display, with a full HD 1080 resolution with 441 pixels per inch. Sony has fully focused on camera: Xperia Z1 is packed with 20.7 MP camera that has a 1/2.3-inch Exmor RS for Mobile camera sensor, a BIONZ image processor engine and Sony's G branded lens. Although It is not capable of shooting 4K videos which was being rumoured from a long time. While having a super camera at the rear, Sony's flagship has only 2 MP camera at the front. 


Touch screen display supports 10 fingers multi-touch operation. Xperia Z1 houses 2 GB RAM and a powerful quad-core 2.2 GHz Snapdragon 800 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU. What's special with the camera of this phone is that it can zoom upto 3X without zero loss in image quality. While having such specs, Xperia Z1 weighs only 170 g. It is packed with a 3,000 mAh battery which is quite good. This smartphone is really smar, it can be connected to 62 Sony's NFC accessories.


Xperia Z1 is among those initial phones which run on Android 4.3. Sony has also added some camera software for better image capturing. Info eye gives information about the subject you are capturing, somehow like Google goggles. A superior burst shoot mode gives user ability to capture 61 images in just 2 seconds. All of the images are automatically sorted and are stored on Sony's cloud "PlayMemories" and storage space is unlimited for US users and some places in Europe. AR effects is helpful in adding funny elements in your images while taking the picture, like dinosaurs. 



To attract more and more users Sony is providing 60 days of free "Music Unlimited" access, 10 free PlayStation Mobile games, and 6 "blockbuster" movies. This total stuff costs 118 euro. However, there's no official word on price and release date, but as being a quick global release, we think Sony will release it in October 2013.
