Ubuntu Touch OS is coming to Oppo Find 5 soon

Canonical is about to bring power of Ubuntu Touch OS to Oppo Find 5 smartphone. This will be the exciting result as Find 5 is already a powerful phone. We've already seen how beautiful and powerful the Ubuntu Touch OS is.

The developer behind this porting of Ubuntu Touch OS to Find 5 is Eoghan who has just started 'getting a device tree etc modified to work with Ubuntu touch’s build environment’. Ubuntu Touch OS documentation is already feature rich and helpful so we don't think that it will be a long for Eoghan to successfully finish his project. By the way, Oppo Find 5 is loaded with following specs: 5" 1080p display, 2 GB RAM, Quad core Snapdragon A7 CPU and Adreano 320 GPU.

Nexus 4 price reduced by $100, 8 GB at $199 and 16 GB at $249 now

You love Nexus 4. We love Nexus 4. Google has done some benefit for Nexus 4 fans. The Mountain View firm has reduced the price of is smartphone i.e. Nexus 4 by $100. It means you can have 8 GB Nexus 4 at $ 199 which was $299 till today. 16 GB Nexus 4 is available at the price of $249 while the early price was $349. Both editions of Nexus 4 are unlocked and can be purchased from Google Play.
Yesterday Google posted on its Twitter Account that Nexus 4's price is lowered down to 25% off or more. Currently these new pricing scheme applies to following countries: Australia, Canada, Germany, Spain, Korea, US, UK. The most expected reason to alter the price is an update of Android as well as Nexus phone is coming. We believe it will be Key Lime Pie 5.0. After all Nexus smartphone line is not updated from a long time.

Though Nexus 4 has cutting edge features such as Snapdragon S4 processor, 720p display, 8 MP camera, low price, latest version of Android but it lacked LTE. It is also rumored that LG may made Nexus 5 and it will add 1080p display, Snapdragon 600, 2 GB RAM and more. Who knows what will happen, but we are happy with Google's decision to reduce the prices.

Sony teases new flagship Honami in a video, launch date set for September 4

From few days Sony is posting photos of its upcoming smartphone on its facebook page. It will be a Z seires phone, the series which is Sony promoting after the launch of Xperia Z. If we trust the leaks and reports then the new smartphone from Sony will be Xperia Z1 or much awaited 'Honami'.

Today Sony has also posted a 30 second video about the new handset. It does not show anything special except that the upcoming flagship phone will have bezels and lookalikes similar to Xperia Z family and thus it is also waterproof, which is also featured in the video. Honami is expected to have a 20 MP camera capable of 4K video capture and will make it to compete with other camera focused phones such as Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom and Nokia Lumia 1020. Sony is also looking to launch smartphone accessories such as "lens camera" which can be attached to any iOS and Android device to turn that into a high-end shoot-and-point camera.

Sony has held the event for September 4 where it will officially unveil the Xperia Z1 or Honami and will put the end to the rumors. It is the same day when Samsung will introduce Galaxy Note III. It seems to be a touch competition of top manufacturers even in the field of launch events. Oh, and by the way, the official hashtag is #bestofsony.

Apple is reportedly testing 64 bit A7 for processor iPhone 5S which is 31% faster than A6

Event of iPhone 5S is coming soon and rumors are getting hot on web. If we believe on the latest new then we'll find that Apple has reportedly tested 64 bit A7 chips for upcoming iPhone 5S.

FOX news reporter Clayton Morris tweeted that Apple is testing new A7 chips for iPhone 5S. He has said there "new iPhone" which is probably the iPhone 5S. He also added that this new processor is 31% faster than iPhone 5's A6 CPU. Both of A6 and A7 processors are dual core, but reports say that A7 is a 64 bit CPU. So it will be the first time when a phone will feature 64 bit CPU. This A7 chip uses ARM v8 chipset architecture.

As 9to5mac says, fifth gen iPad will feature this new SoC. They also reported that Apple is again using Samsung's component for its chips. It is not for the first time when Cuppertino giant does so. If 64 bit A7 will not be available in 2013 then 64 bit support will be released in A8 with 2014 models.

We all like dominoes. No, no, I am not talking about Pizza. But the other one. So, we all like them. They are fascinating, and demonstrate the creativity, the ideas of their creators. Some folks from a YouTube channel Aatma Studio have made a domino which consists of 10,000 iPhone 5. These guys are making a concept that these iPhone have NFC, so the content can be passed from one iPhone to the other. It can be a good commercial for Apple if they'll introduce NFC enabled iPhone.

LG may make the new Nexus 5, not Motorola

LG has recently announced its flagship device G2. After a couple of weeks G2 will enter the market for official sale firstly joining USA, then UK and other European and Asian countries.

A Chinese website, MyDrivers has reported that Nexus 5 will not be designed by Motorola, but by LG, the manufacturer of last Nexus 4. It will look alike G2 but will not contain heavy specs and features as Google keeps Nexus devices low costly and thus affordable, while G2 is heavy on pocket.

Although Nexus 5 will not heavy Snapdragon 800 processor but its li'l brother Snapdragon 600 and it will have 1080p display screen. Camera is expected to be of 10 MP. Power and volume rocker keys will not be on the rear panel, but on the sides. It is also said to be housing a 2 GB RAM.

Nvidia is making 7 inch Nexus 7 killer Android Tablet, named as Tegra Tab

Nvidia seems to be developing a competitor for Nexus 7. After the release of Tegra 4 processor and Tegra Shield gaming device, Nvidia is going to release a 7 inch Android Tablet that will compete with other Android tablets and it's straight prey will be Nexus 7. Google has removed Tegra CPU from Nexus 7 (2013) and has added Snapdragon CPU.

Some pictures are leaked on internet showing Nvidia's next flagship device and reports also say that Nvidia has also trademarked the device name as "Tegra Tab". According to leaks it is expected to have a 7" screen, 5 MP rear camera, micro-HDMI and micro-USB ports and a 3.5-mm audio jack.

It was not only Google and Asus' partnership program that brought original Nexus 7. Nvidia' Kai project reduced the components of tablet and thus it became 7 incher killer. But in July Google launched Nexus 7 with Snapdragon processor and Asus also drawbacked from Nvidia by joining Intel with its Fonepad. So ofcourse Nvidia is not happy with these companies.

Moto X will soon join HTC One and Galaxy S4 as a Google Play Edition phone

Moto X was launched on 5 major carriers of USA, but it is a phone from Motorola which is now under the guidance of Google, so there's no doubt that there will be a factory unlocked version will be available, or I should say a Google Play edition. As Motorola said, a Google Play Edition of Moto X will be launched soon and it will receive updates faster than models purchased from any of the carriers.

If Moto X joins Google Play Edition branding then it will be the third Play Edition phone after Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One. Remember Sony has also announced to manufacture a Google Play Edition of Xperia Z and Oppo has also said same for Oppo Find 5. Buying a Google Play Edition Moto X means that no carrier bloatware installed.

There's no official word on Play Edition of Moto X but it is expected to be launched in September.

Customize your Moto X with Motorola's Motomaker

So as you know that Motorola yesterday launched its much awaited and rumored phone: Moto X. Well the phone rumors went correct and it was the same phone as expected. But a special facility about Moto X is that users have choice to design their own Moto X. That means you have 504 combinations to choose from!

Motorola has lanched a tool Motomaker which will help users to set the combinations of their favorite Moto X. It is a online tool where users can set colors for front and back panels, accents i.e. volume and power controls, custom signatures, cases, earphones, chargers, boot message etc. Users can also set wallpaper of their choice. They can even log in with Google account already so they don't need to log in when they get it shipped. You can also choose storage online from 16 or 32 gigs.

Motorola will assembled all these custom designed Moto X in Texas, USA. Original Moto X comes in 16 different color options with 7 different accents. It has a textured back while the custom Moto X will not have a textured back, it will come with a pear back. Motorola says user designed Moto X will be shipped within 4 days in USA. 16 GB Moto X costs $199.99 and 32 GB version costs $249.99 USD.

After a long wait, Motorola officially announces Moto X

After a long, long time and a period of numerous rumors and leaks we are here to introduce you with the new Moto X. Yes, the wait is over. Motorola on thursday, Aug 1 2013, officially announced the much awaited flagship handset, Moto X. This is the device which Motorola said about that you can customize it as your wishes. Let's have a look what is this Moto X.

So first of all, let's talk about specs. Basically this is a phone having 4.7 inch 1280 x 720p display with pixel density of 316 ppi. It's screen is covered with a new kind of Gorilla glass named as Magic glass due to its curves towards the screen. Dimensions are as 129.3 x 65.3 x 10.4 mm and it weighs 130 gm. Moto X has 16 GB and 32 GB onboard memory options but like Google's other phones there is no option to expand memory, while RAM is of 2 GB that is pretty impressive after all these mid range specs. It has 2,200 mAH battery and has usual connectivity options: Wifi, LTE, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC. You have 50 GB Google Drive space for 2 years.

It is loaded with 1.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and Adreno 320 GPU which seems to be quite low as today's requirements. But Moto X chip has something different; it has custom Motorola designed X8 chipset. Yes you got it right, it has 8 custom cores but it doesn't mean that it is similar to Exynos 5 Octa or MediaTek's new Octa core CPU. It has eight cores out of which 4 are GPU cores, 2 are CPU cores and other two are "Natural language processor” and the “contextual computing processor". Former is used audio processing and noise cancellation while the latter is used to sensors, it is the processor which works when phone is in standby mode. All of this architecture dramatically improves bateery life otherwise Moto X will be loaded with a heavy battery to attain such capabilities.

While talking about software, Moto X runs on Stock version of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. There's no Jelly Bean 4.3, but we are expecting Motorola to be pushing Android 4.3 update soon. Moto X will available on AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile and US Cellular at the price point of $199.99 for 16 GB model. 32 GB model is available for AT&T users at $249.99.

Moto X has a new "Clear Pixel" 10 MP camera at the rear and a 2 MP camera at the front; both of them can shoot 1080p videos. There's also a gesture for accessing camera quickly. Just twist your wrist 2-3 times and camera will open up directly. There's a complete UI for camera app.

You can customize your Moto X using Motorola's new website: Motomaker. It is first time when users have choice to design their own phone. It will be rolling out soon. Motorola says customized device shipped within 4 days in USA. It is really, really impressive.

Apart all other features, three important and innovative features are added to Moto X. These are:
  • Continuous Listening or Always Active: You don't need to touch Moto X to perform tasks. Google Now always remain switched ON so you just need to say "OK Google Now" and Google Now will be there to help you. And because you can tune Moto X for use voice, it learns more from you.
  • Quick Capture: Twist your wrist and you are in the camera. Tap anywhere on the screen and get zero lag snaps. Clear Pixel Camera works awesome in low light areas.
  • Active Display: Moto X lock screen is just not simple lock screen. It displays a lot of useful information such as unread message count, missed calls and some others, with clock too.

With a lot of new features and new option to customize phone according to users' needs, Motorola is changing the game. Moto X is a new player on same turf. Do you think it will help Motorola to gain its earlier reputation and be a market leader?
