Google wants to buy mapping app Waze for $1 billion

Internet giant Google is rumored to buy popular mapping app company Waze Inc. Waze is popular in users as it is a social driving app. Users can share their location in a single tap, it provides voice guided navigation, helps you find cheapest and nearest gas stations and has a huge community of millions of users who contribute to road alerts including accidents, hazards, police traps.

Waze's asking price is around $1 billion. Other companies such as Facebook also want to bid for Waze. However, Waze's cofounders do not want to go with Facebook, as social giant wants to move it to California.

The startup's app has more than 40 million active users. In the meantime, you can have your hands on Waze on both Android and iOS.
